The countdown to the new year has begun and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for how wonderful and generous the past year has been.
Looking back at all the beautiful weddings I have had the luck to design this year, here are my favourites from the year gone by (Tell me which one is yours!)
I. Kites as tablemats
Topping the list, this is super fun and easy. The kite table mats were perfect for a ‘boyish’ outdoor lunch for the groom’s family. I love how great they looked with the coral and aqua colour palette.
II. Mumtaz jaali
My personal favourite of the year, these jaalis were created for a wedding in October. I love how versatile they are- I used them as screens, prints for the cushions as well as the bar façade.
III. Mogra Chair backs
This simple yet elegant detail ensured that the venue for this summer bhajan, not only looked but also smelled great!
IV. Tambourines creepers
Sometimes, the most ordinary details make a beautiful setting. I stumbled on these in a local market and love how quirky they made this day Mehendi look.
V. The Transparent tent- set on the football field of the Long Beach Hotel is No.5 on my list. I love how the chandeliers reflect against the ceiling and twinkle against the night sky in the backdrop.
VI. Bubblegum wedding: Go bright or go home. I love how beautiful these bubblegum colours looked against the turquoise waters of Mauritius.
VII. Quotes as the Jaimala backdrop
I loved making this gorgeous backdrop for the Jaimala, inspired by the couples favourite quote. Its personal details like these that make a wedding more charming.
VIII. Lotus tables
These tables were my most ambitious project till date. Layers of metal were beaten to create the shape of a lotus leaf from which rose tinted chrome lotuses ‘grew’ to form the centerpiece.
IX. A good party starts with an amazing bar. This bulb installation mixed with strings of jasmine was the show stopper at this Sangeet.
X. Pink bottles
Last on the list are these super cute DIY bottles. I loved how happy these looked!
